Acupuncture & Yoga Nidra
with Rachael + Sasha
Friday, May 16 @6p
90 minutes | $55
Limited Space Available - 10 Participants only.
Yoga Nidra is the antidote to over-stimulation:
the complete surrender of mind and body into rest.
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice stimulating specific points on the body along meridian lines to rebalance & nourish the flow of energy (Qi) in the body.
Through combining these experiences, Sasha will create a space of deep rest, while Rachael places acupuncture needles to nourish the Heart & Small Intestine: the organs of Summer in TCM. The Heart is considered the ruler of all organs and is most associated with the Fire element: our joy and outward energy. It is responsible for governing blood circulation and houses the Shen, which refers to the mind, consciousness, and spirit.
The Small Intestine is responsible for the absorption and transformation of nutrients from food. In TCM, it is associated with the process of separating the pure from the impure, both in a physical and metaphorical sense, ie. separating the truth from the untruth, thereby offering mental clarity and discernment.
While allowing the acupuncture needles to remain in place, your Nidra practice will invite deeper restoration. Sasha will provide gentle acupressure (with hands) to further enhance your experience.
What can I expect?
After you arrive, we'll begin with a few gentle stretches and qigong movements, and then move into meditation and pranayama to clear the body and mind, preparing for the Nidra journey.
You'll be resting in supported Savasana for the majority of the practice. You'll be welcome to use *bolsters, blankets, eye covers, to help with your Nidra Experience. Dress in lose fitting cozy gear: don't forget socks!
Once settled for Nidra, Rachael will place acupuncture needles. She will be monitoring throughout the practice to help ease your comfort.
*Acupuncture points may include head, ears, feet, ankles, arms, wrists, and hands.*
Sasha & Rachael will apply acupressure (applying gentle pressure on specific points of the body) throughout the experience.
*Our studio provides mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows.
You are welcome to bring your own items of comfort.
